Many people choose body modifications, like tattoos, as a way to express their uniqueness. However, some are firmly against them. Kerstin Tristan was one of those people until 2015, when a single event completely changed her perspective.
At 56 years old, Kerstin is a mother and grandmother, but her hobbies might be considered unconventional for someone her age. She’s passionate about body modification art, particularly tattoos.
Today, she has her entire body covered in tattoos, a transformation that came with a significant financial investment. But her love for tattoos didn’t come overnight. In fact, up until 2015, Kerstin despised them. So, what made her change her mind? The answer lies in the year she got her first tattoo, which marked a turning point in her views.
“I simply just wanted to try something new. We all live only once, and I thought that at my age, it was time for something real,” she explained.
Since then, Kerstin has spent around 30,000 euros (approximately US $32,000) on tattoos alone. Despite the significant investment, she’s received a lot of attention and admiration for her bold choice.
Her Instagram account has amassed over 190,000 followers, and her TikTok videos have garnered millions of views. Kerstin is not shy about showcasing her body art, frequently posting photos that highlight her tattoos on Instagram. In fact, just a decade ago, she had no tattoos at all, and she often shares comparison images to showcase the dramatic transformation.
The German influencer’s body is adorned with vibrant rose tattoos on her legs, a leopard print design on her shoulders, and several detailed portraits on her arms, among many others.
Kerstin loves her appearance now, saying, “When I look at myself in the mirror, I see a beautiful meadow full of flowers that one has to love.”
And it’s not just her who appreciates her look. One fan commented, “A beautiful work of art,” while another wrote, “Wow, stunning photo.”
